Stephanie Rabus releases “Payback’s A Beach” music video

Singer songwriter Stephanie Rabus has released the official music video for her latest single, “Payback’s A Beach”, following its premiere with RFD TV. Written by Rabus alongside Mark Roma and Corey Lee Barker, the upbeat track puts a playful twist on heartbreak and betrayal, replacing post breakup sadness with sunshine, margaritas and a trip to Cabo. “Payback’s A Beach” puts fun spin on heartbreak Rather than dwelling on a relationship that has gone wrong, “Payback’s A Beach” focuses on moving forward and enjoying life after discovering a partner has been unfaithful. The song takes its central idea from the familiar phrase about payback, transforming it into a beach-themed breakup anthem filled with ocean views, cabana boys and a carefree attitude. “My dad calls this song ‘Calypso Country’,” Rabus says. “It’s a fun summer song that also happens to be a breakup song, with margaritas, cabana boys, and a carefree attitude that says nothing, not even a breakup, is going to ruin your day.” Stephanie Rabus embraces “Calypso Country” The tropical setting gives the breakup song a lighthearted character, with Rabus using a holiday in Cabo as the backdrop for leaving a failed relationship behind. “There’s something about a million dollar ocean view that resonates with just about everyone, because the ocean really is the cure to almost everything,” Rabus says. With summer drawing to a close, the singer wanted the release to provide one final taste of the season. “I know summer is coming to an end, but I wanted to give everyone one more fun, familiar taste of summer before we head straight into pumpkin spice everything! I hope you enjoy!” New video premieres with RFD TV The official video for “Payback’s A Beach” premiered with RFD TV and accompanies a song built around independence, confidence and finding happiness after heartbreak. Its lyrics see Rabus ignoring missed calls while enjoying the sunshine and accepting that she knows what her former partner has been doing. Instead of allowing the betrayal to ruin her day, she embraces her surroundings and turns the situation into her own form of lighthearted revenge. Rabus builds Nashville music career Now based in Nashville, Rabus continues to perform throughout Music City alongside selected appearances outside Tennessee. Her songwriting draws heavily from personal experiences, combining country storytelling with elements of pop, soul and rock. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Rabus discovered her passion for singing at an early age. After spending several years in Arizona with her family, music became a way of building confidence while she navigated childhood health challenges and insecurities. Her parents first recognised her vocal ability when she spontaneously sang “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid”, leading to years of vocal practice, school talent shows and choir performances. From St. Louis to Nashville At 21, Rabus joined her first band, with her father playing drums. Her musical journey later led her to the St. Louis-based band Borderline before she began developing her career as a solo artist. She now divides her time between Nashville and St. Louis while continuing to expand her audience. Rabus cites Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, Pat Benatar and Evanescence among her musical influences, reflecting the country, pop, soul and rock elements found throughout her own music. During her career, she has shared stages with artists including Bryan White, Toby Keith, Lonestar, Little Texas, Lee Brice, Cassadee Pope, Tyler Farr and Lindsey Ell.
